Sr. Sponsored Programs Analyst, Research Administration
Job Description:
Provide assistance to faculty investigators and departmental grants administration staff in matters related to the administration of externally sponsored projects through the project life cycle from the submission of the proposal to a sponsor to close-out of the award with a high degree of independence.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and five years experience in research administration or related field.
Specific Job Related Duties:
- Provides analysis and guidance to principal investigators (PI) regarding grant applications, deadlines, and formats for proposal writing.
- Reviews completed applications, proposals, and contracts for accuracy and compliance with University and sponsor requirements, including but not limited to cost sharing, facilities and administrative costs, and compliance with disclosed cost accounting practices.
- Established new awards in automated systems within established time guidelines.
- Monitors expenditure transactions for allowabilitiy and allocability in accordance with project budget, sponsor guidelines and disclosed cost accounting practices.
- Provides support regarding budget adjustments and cost transfers.
- Maintains knowledge of database(s) and research administration principles to maximize integrity of the data.
- Identifies areas / subject matter in which educational programs need to be developed and deployed.
- Investigate issue(s) regarding proposal submissions, contract negotiations or financial management analyzing historical data and engaging faculty, department administration and/or others as warranted. Disseminate solution(s) as appropriate.
- Assist with the development of forms, templates and guidance documents for use by research community.
- Assist management with the development of procedures that ensure compliance with sponsor and regulatory rules.
Salary Range:
- Annual salary commensurate with experience.
