JOB DESCRIPTION:

Prepares and oversees financial operations of the departments within the ASG IV.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting or equivalent in related field and at least 4 years of relevant work experience.

SPECIFIC JOB RELATED DUTIES:

  • Manages approximately 190 division M&O and Professional Development accounts ensuring that expenses are appropriate, allowable, and within the guidelines.
  • Manages the Family Planning and Healthy Texas Women grants.
  • Prepares annual departmental budgets for all division M&O accounts, endowments, gifts, Faculty Allocations, Operating Revenue, and Legal accounts.
  • Assists in the management of Pediatric and OB-Gyn endowments and assists holders in completing annual Report of Use.
  • Generates monthly reports including endowment and Faculty Allocations reporting. Fields questions regarding spend-down.
  • Manage RMCHP revenue splits for WIC and Title V voucher submissions.
  • Key contact between RMCHP and the State regarding RMCHP grants.
  • Approves all Requisitions, Travel Authorization, and Purchase Orders (unrestricted) for Pediatrics, Center for Violence Protection and OB-Gyn. 
  • Processes Cost Transfers for all unrestricted accounts within the supported departments.
  • Creates new account setup for classes/projects.
  • Distributes and enforces AE purchasing and account guidelines.
  • Reconcile CBA accounts.

SALARY RANGE:

Commensurate with experience.

  • Possesses an advanced knowledge and understanding, with progressive development,
  • of financial statements and relationships, analytical techniques, operations, and
  • Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Progressive development of the ability to analyze/evaluate data.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively work and communicate with individuals at all levels of the institution.
  • Progressive learning in regard to decision making responsibility with minimal guidance.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to accomplish goals.
  • Demonstrates a high degree of professionalism.
