Research Communications Manager, Ob/Gyn Publications
Job Description:
Responsible for ensuring communication programs for the department are evidenced-based and informed by available research. Liaising with program staff and support services departments regarding all research and communication activities. Manages the development and planning of research studies and projects; oversee needs assessments, work production, evaluation of research studies, and the development and planning of communications/marketing plans and materials, in coordination with the Office of Public Affairs as appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in related field and five years of relevant experience.
Specific Job Related Duties:
- Plans, organizes, final review/approval and submits grant applications to federal, state, and local agencies.
- Uploads information and documents into online journal and funding agency electronic systems.
- Works with investigators to draft grant budgets.
- Assists in the strategic development of research within the department.
- Adheres to submission guidelines and compliance requirements for funding agencies. Informs PIs of any major changes or deadlines.
- Edits, submits, and archives manuscripts and other material used in publications related to medical research.
- Works with authors to ensure proper reference citation, primarily via electronic reference management software (EndNote).
- Ensure compliance with legal and submission conventions of text and figures in academic publishing.
- Informs PIs of upcoming grant submissions and opportunities.
