Rehabilitation Services Supervisor - Galveston (PT/PTA or OT/OTA)
JOB DESCRIPTION
Directs the day-to-day operations of assigned clinical area independently with general supervision from Rehabilitation Services Manager. Directs the evaluation, development, coordination, and implementation of therapy intervention provided to patients as needed. Serves as a patient advocate assuring the delivery of therapy meets legal, ethical, and institutional standards while adhering to the philosophy, objective, policies and procedures of the department and the organization.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical or Occupational Therapy or other health related field.
- Five (5) years related experience.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS OR CERTIFICATIONS
Required:
- Licensed by the Texas Executive Council of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Examiners.
- CPR certification.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Manages daily operations and activities of assigned clinical area.
- Serves as a primary supervisor for assigned area.
- Directly supervises personnel to include, but not limited to accountability, time/attendance, and annual performance reviews.
- Participates in real time staffing and patient care adjustments to support staffing to demand model.
- Delegates duties appropriately to assigned team.
- Manages the environment of care in assigned area.
- Serves as a liaison between assigned clinic area needs (including but not limited to volumes, trends, and staffing) and the Rehab Manager.
- Communicates pertinent information to team members as directed by Rehab Manager.
- Collaborates with Rehabilitation Services Manager with orientation and mentoring of new employees to their assigned area.
- Provides evaluation, treatment, and discharge planning to patients relative to age, culture, and condition in assigned clinical area.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Ability to professionally partner with therapy patients, care partners, physicians, mid-level providers, therapists, nurses, and others in a high stress environment.
- Analytical/interpersonal skills to address patient’s and assigned team’s concerns and questions.
- Physical or mental abilities to handle high stress and emergent healthcare situations.
