HR Specialist - Business Service Center - (Galveston)
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate degree or equivalent and two years related experience.
Job Summary:
To provide general –level expertise and analysis of the administrative and business activities related to core processes within the HR Business Service Center Ensures process and operational continuity of entity and department level transactions.
Job Duties:
- Provides prompt, courteous, and accurate assistance to callers while appropriately tracking and documenting inquiries within HR Business Service Center’s case management system. Establishes and maintains positive customer service relationships at all times by utilizing excellent customer service skills, maintaining a caring and professional attitude at all times.
- Acts as a consultant for the HR Business Service Center Representative to address complex benefits issues requiring subject-matter expertise.
- Investigates and actively seeks resolution to problems and concerns.
- Maintains a high level of confidentiality when researching and responding to customer inquiries/issues.
- Develops and maintains accurate information within the Human Capital Management System (HCM) and HR Business Center Customer Relationship Management System (CRM).
- Adheres to all UTMB Health and HR Business Center’s policies, procedures and standards within budgetary specifications, including time management, supply management, productivity and accuracy of practice.
- Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirement for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency while supporting department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization. serves as preceptor, mentor, and resource to the Human Resources Representative.
- Participates on project teams as assigned or performs special projects as requested by leadership and attends user’s meetings when appropriate.
- Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.
- Performs related duties as required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Experience in PeopleSoft HCM version 8.8 or higher.
- Demonstrates ability to manage multiple priorities and use critical thinking skills to make decisions with minimal guidance.
- Strong attention to detail and problem resolution skills.
- Ability to work with information of a confidential nature.
- Ability to work independently or in collaboration with peers and business partners in a seamless manner.
- Ability to interpret policies and procedures within the HR Business Center and determine when escalation of issue is appropriate.
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant UTMB Experience
- Experience and proficiency in PeopleSoft and Taleo
Salary Range:
Actual salary commensurate with experience.
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm and as needed on occasion.
