Energy Management Engineering Specialist II - Maintenance (Various Campuses)
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or related field, or equivalent; and five years of related experience.
Job Description:
Responsible for maintaining utility systems standards and coordinating the activities of contractors and service providers. Also, responsible for maintaining system documentation, providing technical support to maintenance and development and have primary responsibility for developing and maintaining standard operating procedures.
Job Duties:
- Uses the building automation system to analyze building energy performance and establish baselines for energy projects.
- Develops strategies for energy optimization.
- Manages implementations of energy optimization strategies.
- Develops and implements training courses for building automation specialists and other personnel as needed.
- Develops electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, and HVAC schematics, one line diagrams and control sequence of operations as needed.
- Reads, writes, and interprets multiple building automation system programming languages.
- Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.
Preferred Experience:
Extensive experience with using building automation systems.
Preferred License/Certification:
Certified Energy Manager (CEM)
EQUIPMENT:
Various calibration tools, meters, analyzers, hand tools, and standard office equipment/software. Intermediate to advanced computer skills required.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT/LOCATION OF POSITION:
Standard hospital, clinical, laboratory and/or office environments. May be exposed to such occupational hazards such as communicable diseases and harmful chemicals. Some exposure to weather and physical hazards. Exposure to mechanical and electrical hazards and may be required to work in high locations or crawlspaces.
- Exposure to areas under construction.
- Usual working conditions found in craft shops and mechanical rooms.
- Exposure to adverse weather conditions or temperature extremes.
- Exposure to electrical/mechanical hazards.
- Proper safety and precaution must be closely observed when operating and repairing specialized equipment and systems.
- Climb ladders and stairways and work on building rooftops of high elevation.
- Work in confined spaces such as ceilings, under floor crawlspaces, and manholes.
- May be required to work extended hours or rotating shifts.

Actual salary range commensurate with experience.
